Presidents Message

Welcome to a new year at Delaware Valley ICRI. I’m privileged to be serving as president, with a great board of directors to help this chapter grow in so many ways. We already have several great programs in place for 2012.

On February 21, 2012, David White, P.E. from Sika will give a presentation on “Fire Protection for FRP Strengthened Elements”. If you didn’t make the Holiday Party, we have moved our meetings to The Down Town Club at 6th and Chestnut Sts in Philadelphia www.downtownclub.com

In March we are working on a joint meeting with ACI with a presentation by Fred Goodwin FICRI, FACI titled; “Cracking Potential Technology”.

In April we will have a presentation by Brian Cordak from Aquafin on Moisture in Concrete and its effect on floor systems, coatings and finishes.

Our May/June meeting this year will be an outdoor networking/social event.

This year’s Golf Outing will again be at Springfield County Club in Springfield Delaware County. We had last year’s outing here but we were rained out after several holes. Hopefully this year we get in the entire event without the monsoon rains.

As we look forward to the fall, we have several more presentations and events we are planning to fill out the calendar year.

I would like to thank the board for all their hard work in getting all these events together so early in the year. Please remember this organization is run by the membership and if any member has an idea for a presentation or event please don’t hesitate to contact any board member with your ideas.

Sincerely,

Bill Reynolds

CONCRETE FLOOR REPAIR & POLISHING
Jamison Masonry Restoration was hired by building materials distributor Tague Lumber to repair and polish the concrete floor of their Malvern showroom. The work was completed in three sequential sections of 50' x 60' each to accommodate other trades, and included repair and caulking of all concrete cracks, damaged control joints, and miscellaneous defects, diamond grinding of the entire concrete floor to expose the underlying aggregate, and step-by-step graduated polishing to achieve a high-gloss finish.
